Our Story

 We’re Ryan & Rachael Hincksman - husband and wife, parents, and the slightly sleep-deprived people behind Beachmere Takeaway and Pumicestone Bites.

In August 2025, we took over Beachmere Takeaway with a simple idea: create the kind of local takeaway we’d want to walk into ourselves. Great food, generous portions, friendly service, a great team and a business that genuinely feels part of its community.

What we probably didn’t expect was just how quickly Beachmere would become such a huge part of our lives. With the support of an incredible local community and team, it grew far beyond what we originally imagined - and apparently we decided having one takeaway wasn’t keeping us busy enough.

Less than a year later, Pumicestone Bites became the next chapter.

While the two stores have their own names, teams and communities, they’re built on exactly the same values. We’re still hands-on, still learning, still probably working far too many hours, and still incredibly proud every time someone chooses one of our stores for their morning coffee, family dinner or Friday night feed.

For us, this has never just been about selling food. It’s about building great local businesses, creating opportunities for our team and being part of the communities that support us.

Beachmere is where our story started. Pumicestone is where it keeps growing.

 And as for what comes after that? Well… we’re probably safer not making any promises. 😂
